WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The Florida Department of Highway Safety said around 1,400 troopers are working 12-hour shifts along Florida's east coast while Hurricane Dorian spins over the Bahamas.
The troopers are working to keep roads safe and help prepare for the impacts of the storm.

West Palm Beach police said Monday they made an overnight burglary arrest along Northwood Road. Police said the offender, who they did not name, now faces an enhancement for committing the crime during a state of emergency.
“If you are going to do the crime, be prepared to the "extra" time,” said West Palm Beach police in a tweet.
