MIAMI (AP) -- Officials say 11 students at a Florida middle school became ill after taking unknown pills.
The Miami Herald reports that a girl brought the pills Tuesday to Kinloch Park Middle School in Miami.
A Miami-Dade school district spokeswoman says rescue workers responded after several students reported feeling lethargic.
Eight children were taken to nearby hospitals, while three others were treated at the school and sent home with their parents. Their ages ranged from 12-14 years old.
Officials say the girl who brought the pills will be disciplined according to school rules. Police are also investigating.
