(WESH/CNN) - The current surf conditions, coupled with high fish bait, is causing and increased chance for shark attacks in Central Florida.
In the past 24 hours, two surfers were bitten, numbers 13 and 14 this year in Volusia County.
The first happened at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Then a 32-year-old man was bitten on his side while surfing near Flagler Avenue on Sunday morning, leaving cuts to his foot.
Bother surfers refused medical treatment
Volusia County beach safety reminded beachgoers you shouldn't fear the ocean, but also make sure you are swimming or surfing near a lifeguard.
