Bear causes major crash on I-75 in Southwest Florida

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — Authorities said a crash on Interstate 75 in Southwest Florida Thursday morning was caused when a vehicle hit a bear.

A pickup truck hit and killed the bear, setting off a chain-reaction that caused a tractor-trailer to jackknife and involved two other vehicles in northern Collier County.

Three people were injured in the crash, one of which was a trauma alert.

All lanes were back open by 10 a.m.
