Body found in car submerged in South Florida canal

A man’s body was discovered inside a car that was found submerged in a canal in Tamarac Thursday morning, officials said.

TAMARAC, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say rescue workers have recovered a man's body from a car found submerged in a South Florida canal.

The Broward Sheriff's Office says deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue responded to reports of the submerged car near an apartment complex Thursday morning.

A dive team was able to recover the body several hours later. A tow truck pulled the car from the canal.

Family members at the nearby complex identified the victim to news outlets as 27-year-old Lachtowiz Frazier.

The say he worked at two jobs while studying at Broward College.
