FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -- The body of a diver who had been missing for two days has been found.

The Broward County Sheriff's Office said that its marine unit found 60-year-old Antonio Almeida on Sunday.

The search had begun a day earlier after the Deerfield Beach man failed to surface about a half-a-mile way from Lauderdale-By-the-Sea, which is in South Florida. The search included help from the U.S. Coast Guard.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Almeida was among 34 Scuba divers and snorkelers who went out to a shallow reef aboard the commercial diver vessel Lady Go Diver, according to Arilton Pavan, who runs Dixie Divers, the boat's owner.

Pavan said the man was a local resident and an experienced diver who has made two or three previous trips with his company.
