FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A 34-year-old high school football coach in Fort Lauderdale has died, multiple media outlets in South Florida reported Monday.
Coach Eddie Frasier led Fort Lauderdale’s Dillard High School to a perfect regular reason in his first year as the team's head coach.
The medical examiner’s office has not revealed a cause of death, but NBC Miami reported it was not related to the coronavirus.
Frasier was a Dillard alum who had been teaching at the school for more than a decade. He also studied education at Florida Atlantic University.
In December, the Miami Dolphins named Frasier the 2019 George F. Smith High School Coach of the Year for Dillard’s undefeated regular season and regional final playoff berth.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio tweeted "Tragic. May he #RIP" in regard to the coach's passing.
