A social studies teacher from Central Florida died Sunday following a rodeo accident in Mississippi.
Lara Dewees taught middle and high school students through Hernando County's e-School.

She was taken to a local hospital for a head injury and broken bones but later died from her injuries.
Dewees was a cancer survivor who had just gotten engaged less than two weeks ago. She leaves behind an 18-month-old son, Layton.
