Two beaches in the same Florida county were recognized among the best in the country, including Clearwater Beach which took the top spot in the nation.
Noted for its world-famous white sand, Clearwater Beach once again fills the top spot on TripAdvisor's annual listof the 25 Best Beaches in America.
The distinction also made it the only beach in the U.S. on TripAdvisor's list of the 25 Best Beaches in the World at No. 20.
St. Pete Beach, also in Pinellas County, finished close behind on TripAdvisor's list of the nation's best beaches, coming in at No.4. That makes the St. Pete/Clearwater area the only Florida destination with two beaches in the Top 40.
"We've always known how stunning St. Pete/Clearwater area beach are, but for millions of travelers to reconfirm it through TripAdvisor's rankings is extremely rewarding - and a huge honor," Visit St. Pete/Clearwater Executive Director David Downing said.
The annual list is compiled based on the votes of members of the world's largest online travel community. Winners are determined based on the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and averaged ratings gathered over a 12-month period.
Three years ago, USA Today named Clearwater Beach Florida's Best Beach Town and St. Pete Beach received TripAdvisor's top spot in 2012 honors.
