DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say an 18-year-old man pointed a shotgun and shouted racist taunts at a woman and her son during a road-rage confrontation along a Florida road.

Local news outlets report that when Daytona Beach police officers stopped William Ramey on Monday, he told them he'd almost had to shoot someone who had pulled in front of his truck.

A police report says Ramey pulled in front of a van driven by 48-year-old Antoinette Saintvil, slammed on the brakes and yelled a racial slur at her.

Witnesses told police Saintvil screamed for Ramey to "get it together." Ramey responded by pulling a shotgun and pointing it at Saintvil and her 23-year-old son.

Ramey was arrested on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Arrest records don't list an attorney.
