Deputies in Golden Gate Estates arrested a woman Wednesday night after discovering marijuana on her and her 11-year-old daughter.
Stacy Spinella was stopped for speeding along 25th Street Southwest Wednesday. During the stop, a deputy smelled marijuana coming from Spinella's vehicle, and saw Spinella's daughter in the vehicle.
Deputies say Spinella was trying to move things around in the car before finally getting out.
According to the police report, Spinella's daughter refused to get out of the vehicle, when she did, deputies found a bag of marijuana and a marijuana pipe on the child.
A man who answered the door at Spinella's apartment did not want to comment to Fox 4, but neighbors near where the incident happened had plenty to say.
"If they are impaired in anyway they shouldn't be driving around with kids in their vehicle, not only that they shouldn't be doing it period," said Matthew Springs.
Springs and his neighbors say speeding is already a major issue in this neighborhood.
Several vehicles use the street as a shortcut.
Dana Woodall says the situation could have been much worse, especially because there are so many kids in the neighborhood.
"If someone is drinking and driving or if they are high on marijuana while driving it would concern me that they would slip up, and come into the yard, if they are driving like that."
Spinella is facing charges of marijuana possession and contributing to the delinquency of a child.
