TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency in Palm Beach County and seven other counties as Tropical Storm Eta threatens South Florida.
DeSantis issued the executive order Saturday "out of an abundance of caution," spokesman Fredrick Piccolo Jr. said.
The state of emergency was also declared for Broward, Collier, Hendry, Lee, Martin, Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.
Eta is forecast to impact South Florida sometime Sunday evening into Monday.
