MIAMI (AP) — No one was hurt after police say gunshots were fired near a downtown Miami park shortly after a fireworks display.

Witnesses tell media outlets that the fireworks show at Bayfront Park ended at about 9:30 p.m. Monday. Moments later, they heard multiple gunshots.

After the shots rang out, people panicked and tried to flee in all directions. Police evacuated the park as well as the neighboring Bayside Marketplace shopping mall.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Miami police tweeted that they detained a man with a firearm but later released him after determining he "was not involved."
