KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Thousands attended the funeral of two Kissimmee police officers shot and killed in the line of duty last week. The funeral was held at First Baptist Church of Orlando on Thursday morning.
Everett Miller, 45, is accused of shooting the officers on Friday, August 18 during a scuffle at Palmway and East Cypress Streets in Kissimmee. Officer Matthew Baxter died Friday evening and Sgt. Sam Howard died Saturday.

The brothers and sisters of the Kissimmee Police Department placed mourning bands over their badges to honor the fallen officers.
The joint funeral started at 11 a.m.
Interment followed the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home located at 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road in Gotha, Florida.
The Department said, "In lieu of flowers, we ask for you to send a donation to the officers' families via the SunTrust account set up for them in the name City of Kissimmee - Officer Matthew Baxter and Sergeant Sam Howard account number 1000193639936."
