PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. -- Jeff Gammons, a local storm chaser, made his way to the Florida Panhandle to document Hurricane Michael.
Gammons has come face to face with many serious storms over the past two decades.
Gammons strategically chose his location on the western side of the barrier island on the top floor of the parking garage.
Despite that, he anticipates getting trapped there for days.
So, he and his team loaded up their trucks with food, water, and supplies.
"We plan to be here for several days," he said.
Gammons said he's concerned this is both a wind and water event.
I believe this is called the gateway Christian academy. Sustained significant wind damage to the west side of the building. #hurricanemichael#PanamaCitypic.twitter.com/5VJz14bkRZ

He showed us via FaceTime a mobile home park that was of particular concern to him.
He said at least a dozen people had decided to stay.
"I don't know why they didn't leave," he said.

Gammons and his team will ride out the storm in the garage and take measurements of it.
He said it's hard to tell exactly what will happen but is certain about one thing.
"This is pretty significant," said Gammons.
Gammons also expects cell towers to go down. He doesn't anticipate being able to post videos to his social media account during that time, not to mention calling or texting anyone.
