A Miami Beach man was arrested on a video voyeurism charge after police say foreign students who rented a room from him found hidden cameras in clocks in their bathroom.

Winston Vargas, 45, was arrested Tuesday night and booked into the Miami-Dade jail, where he was being held Wednesday on $5,000 bond, records showed. No attorney information was immediately available.

According to a Miami Beach Police arrest report, the students answered a Craigslist ad to rent a room from Vargas, who lives in the 1600 block of Euclid Avenue.

The students moved in Monday, and on Tuesday they found three portable clocks in the bathroom and discovered a hidden camera with a video card inside the clocks, the report said.

The students called police and when an officer showed up, Vargas said he would return their rent money if the victims did not prosecute him, the report said.

Vargas denied placing the cameras in the bathroom and said a man from England placed them there, the report said. When asked about the identity of the man from England, Vargas asked to speak to a lawyer, according to the report.
