ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies have released photos of a newborn baby boy who was found abandoned, in hopes of finding the child's parents.
Media outlets report the baby was found Friday on the back porch of an apartment near Orlando. Doctors estimated the infant had been born just hours before.
Deputies released photos of the infant on Monday. Spokeswoman Jane Watrel says investigators hope pictures of the baby will help them find the baby's mother.
Investigators want the baby's mother to come forward because they're concerned about her health and about the baby's medical background. Watrel says criminal charges "are not even part of the conversation."
The newborn is healthy and in foster care.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Ricardo Lee at 407-254-7000 Ext. 70588.
