Police were investigating the death of a student at a Florida International University dorm Thursday.

The death was reported at Everglades Hall at 1590 Southwest 111th Avenue in Miami around 11:45 a.m.

A photo sent to NBC 6 showed the body being removed from the dorm on stretcher.

Miami-Dade Police said the victim is a 20-year-old man. They said homicide detectives are investigating but said no foul play is suspected.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of a student who was found deceased in his room in one of the Modesto A. Maidique Campus residence halls," Larry W. Lunsford, Vice President for Student Affairs, said in a statement. "At this time there is no evidence of foul play but Miami-Dade Police is conducting a full investigation. Counselors are available to support students and anyone else impacted by this incident."
