A body found in a parking lot near Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise was a homicide suspect from Indian River County, the sheriff's office has confirmed.
Sunrise police were searching for Pedro Torres after a tip from Indian River County.
He was known to frequent Broward County.
A SWAT team responded to a parked car near N. Flamingo Road in Sunrise.
Officers eventually determined the person inside was deceased and the Indian River County Sheriff's office later confirmed that person was Torres.
According to the sheriff's office, preliminary evidence led detectives to believe that her husband, Pedro Torres, killed her.
Pedro Torres died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the Indian River County Sheriff's Office said.
