Miami Police cordoned off an area that stretches several blocks Wednesday night following an armed carjacking.
An active police search was underway from the air and on the ground on Northwest 69th Street and 7th Avenue for suspects who used a gun to steal a car, officials said.
According to police, the carjacking happened hours earlier in Allapattah. When officers later spotted the car and tried to stop it the suspects fled on Interstate 95, police said.
The suspects bailed out on I-95 northbound near Northwest 62nd Street, causing heavy traffic delays.
No other information was immediately known.
