WEST PARK, Fla. (AP) — Officials say two motorcycle riders were killed when their bikes collided in South Florida over the weekend.
A Broward Sheriff's Office news release says 35-year-old Oscar Boatwright and 32-year-old Michael McKenzie died early Sunday morning at a West Park intersection.
Deputies say Boatwright was riding a Harley Davidson when he attempted to make a U-turn. He was struck in a T-bone collision by a McKenzie's Kawasaki Ninja. Both riders were wearing helmets. They were thrown from their bikes and died at the scene.
Flying debris from the crash struck another motorcyclist, officials said. That man was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.
