ST. CLOUD, Fla. (AP) — A deputy in training from Florida is on administrative leave after shooting a man while trying to break up a dispute.

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office says the man who was shot Sunday night doesn't have life-threatening injuries.

Orlando television station WESH reports deputies were called to a house in St. Cloud, Florida because of a disturbance.

The Sheriff's Office says the deputy in training shot someone who posed a deadly threat while trying to break up an argument among a group of people.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shooting, and the deputy is on administrative leave pending the investigation.

Neither agency has released the names of those involved.

The Sheriff's Office says the deputy has been on the force for four months.
