SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Thursday afternoon.
The rocket carried a communications satellite into orbit for Qatar and neighboring countries to help with broadcast and broadband connectivity.
The communications satellite will also connect amateur ham radio users from Brazil to Thailand, according to the Kennedy Space Center website.
