(WESH/NBC) - A wild police chase in Brevard County unfolded Thursday morning when cops spotted a stolen vehicle in northern Indian River County.
Police had been looking for a stolen car for a couple of days when it was spotted in Sebastian, about 10 miles south of Melbourne.
A chase ensued on U.S. 1 at about 100 mph after police said the driver was endangering to the public.
During the chase, a police car wrecked, but the officer was not badly hurt.
Seconds after the Melbourne police car crashed, the chase came to an end.
Officers said they had to use a stun gun on the driver, Jonathan Davis, of Cocoa, Fla., to subdue him. He faces charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
