ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Police have arrested an Orlando woman who they say abandoned her missing newborn baby.
Orlando police detectives on Tuesday arrested 30-year-old Susan Richardson on a charge of aggravated child neglect.
Officers responded to the Willow Bend Apartments on Monday after someone reported finding placenta and after-birth in the parking lot. Homicide detectives concluded that a full-term baby had been born, but there was no sign of the infant.
Police dogs and handlers searched the neighborhood but had no luck.
The baby girl was still missing on Tuesday.
Richardson was being booked into the Orange County Jail, and it was unclear if she had an attorney.
