(WINK, CNN NEWSOURCE) Friends Cullem Guthrie, Maison Rosanti and Nick Manzari caught a big fish last week. It was 13 feet long with a mouthful of teeth.

The guys say they snagged a hammerhead shark 200 yards off Sanibel Island using a stingray as bait.

"And all of a sudden WHIRRRRRRRR the rod started spinning. I just dropped the bait on starts screaming," Rosanti said.

Among the three of them it only took about 30 minutes to get the shark to shore.

They only brought it into knee-deep water so they could cut the line and send it on its way.

"He swam off beautifully, on his own power, just swam away with his big dorsal fin out the water, on the sunrise. It was absolutely amazing," Rosanti said.

Something they say is so important; to respect the fish you catch.

"They're beautiful creatures and people don't really understand how big and how great and how strong these animals actually are, so it's an amazing feeling to actually bring something like that in, and then to be able to bring it in and set it free and catch it again when it's 4 or 5 feet longer," Rosanti said.

The fishermen used a camera to document their catch.
