"As some of you already know, 3L Kristin Babik was wounded during last night's horrific mass shooting in Las Vegas. I have been in touch with Kristin and she would like you all to know that she is in stable condition," Rosenbury said in a statement."Thankfully, the gunshot missed Kristin's major organs and spine."

Rosenbury said Babik is on bed rest.

"We look forward to welcoming her back to Gainesville as soon as she recovers," Rosenbury added. "This shooting is a tragedy for our entire nation."

Babik's Facebook account states that she attended Gainesville's Buchholz High School.

"A UF student was wounded in horrific Las Vegas mass shooting. She is in stable condition. Our thoughts and prayers are with all affected," UF President Kent Fuchs wrote on Twitter.
