(NBC) - A Tampa family got a frightening surprise last weekend when an alligator showed up at their front door.

Luckily for the family, the reptile crossed the street and kept walking through a neighbor's yard.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission later captured the gator.
The trappers told the Simmons family the alligator was coming for their dog.
