MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Miami-Dade police arrested a man who they say went to extreme measures to steal a package off of someone else's front porch.
A doorbell camera was rolling when a homeowner caught a package poacher in the act on May 16.
The ring camera was recording around 1:30 p.m. when a white car drove onto a lawn and parked at a home located near Southwest 120th Avenue and 187th Terrace.
Video shows the suspect, later identified as Jeremy Palacio, 33, approach the house and grab a big box.
He then works to try to shove the large box inside the sedan, but the struggle to steal is real.
In the video it appears he tries to move his seat up to get the box into the backseat. At one point he even drops his shoulder and throws his body weight behind it to jam it in.
As he jumps into the driver's seat, one of the homeowner's comes out.
The victim said Palacio got away with part of a patio furniture set worth about $1,200.
According to Miami-Dade police, Palacio was later arrested on May 20 in connection with another crime and confessed to this theft.
He faces charges including third-degree grand theft.
