ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. — The body of a commercial fisherman who vanished earlier this week was recovered from the Fort Pierce Inlet near Jetty Park on Friday afternoon, deputies said.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Coast Guard recovered the body of Brian Ronshausen, 50.

Ronshausen was last seen launching a small boat from Stan Blum Boat Ramp at about 11 p.m. Monday.

The Coast Guard searched for Ronshausen for much of Tuesday but suspended the search Wednesday morning.

"Sheriff Pearson and the men and women of the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office extend our heartfelt condolences to Brian's family and friends during this difficult time," a post on the sheriff's office's Facebook page said.

The circumstances of Ronshausen's death are unclear.

Danielle Myrter, his sister, has set up a GoFundMe account to help with expenses.
