Within hours after Olympic organizers announced the new dates for the Tokyo games, the main countdown clock was reset.
The clock in front of Tokyo Station showed 479 days remain until the opening ceremony is held.
The rescheduled Tokyo Olympic Games will now begin July 23, 2021 and run until August 8.
The Paralympic Games will take place August 24 to September 5.
The games were postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Organizers said the games will still be called "Tokyo 2020" even though they'll be held in 2021.
