MASNAA, Lebanon (AP) — Syrian state TV says the death toll from a twin bombing attack in the central city of Homs has risen to 19.

The TV says the attack in the government-held neighborhood of Zahraa also wounded more than 100.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the blasts killed 32 and wounded 90.

Footage aired on state TV showed widespread destruction in the area as fire fighters tried to extinguish the blaze and dead bodies could be seen in the street.

Homs governor Talal Barrazi said earlier Monday that a car bomb exploded and minutes later a suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt detonated his device among people gathered to inspect the damage.

The blasts came as hundreds of fighters and their families were being evacuated from three areas in Syria to Lebanon and Turkey.
