Second tropical storm in 2 weeks skirts Hawaii

Tropical Storm Hilda is set to move just south of the Big Island of Hawaii on Thursday.

This storm won't be a direct hit, but rough, choppy seas and heavy rains are still expected from this storm as it becomes a depression.

Flooding is the main threat since four to seven inches of rain is expected Thursday and Friday.

This is the second tropical system to skirt the Hawaiian Islands in two weeks.

Guillermo went just north of Hawaii last week as a tropical storm, bringing with it heavy rains, rough surf, and strong winds.

While the Atlantic Hurricane season has been extremely quiet, hurricane activity in the Pacific has been non-stop since it began with eleven named storms.
