US Weather: Halloween a dark and stormy night for some

and last updated

Halloween is the scariest night of the year. A thunderstorm can make it a little scarier, and a couple systems across the United States will make that happen across more than a dozen states.

Low pressure moving across Louisiana will bring the best chance for showers and storms to Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama. This is where flash flooding is most likely, too.

From the Southwest, the same rain will spread out into the Midwest affecting Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.

A separate low pressure system is moving into the Northwest from the Pacific. Parts of Washington could see upwards of five inches of rain. Parts of Oregon will also see some heavy rain. And the mountains of Idaho and western Montana will get a rain and snow mix.

Overall, this is looking like a quiet Halloween, but there have been past years where a big storm managed to wreck everyone's Halloween plans.
