WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Wind is steadily picking up with gusts up to 35 mph as of midnight, and a gust to 41mph at the Lake Worth Pier.

Rain so far has been off and on with fast-moving showers that will continue overnight and Thursday. Heavier rains will be moving in from the south Thursday afternoon then again on Saturday.

Wind will pick up a bit more with gusts 40-45 mph through the day and evening. Seas will pick up 12 to 18 feet.

Rain chances increase Saturday to heavy rain and the chance for some stronger thunderstorms as low pressure (non-tropical) moves out of the Gulf and over the state.

Saturday looks like the peak of rain and wind as the low strengthens over us. By Sunday, drier air will move in and the sun will come out in the afternoon. It'll remain windy but the rain will taper off.

Temps cool down behind a second front Monday and become chilly early next week.
