WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — It will be wet and wild through the weekend with various advisories: small craft, gale, high surfg, wind, high rip current.

Rain chances and wind will steadily increase this week. We will see wind gusts along the coast up to gale force (tropical storm force in winter) 40-45 mph, and over the ocean could see wind gusts 58 mph and seas occasionally up to 20 feet Thursday night and Friday. Some coastal beach erosion is possible and extra high tides for a few days. Needless to say it won't be a good beach week.

Rainfall will pick up each day, with some heavy rains expected Friday and Saturday as a non-tropical low pressure system moves over us from the Gulf of Mexico.

We could pick up 4 to 5-plus inches of rain in total over several days. Most of us are in a marginal risk for excessive rainfall Thursday.

Right now the peak of wind and seas looks to be Thursday and Thursday night, and the heaviest rains Saturday. The timing could change a bit.

Temps will be in the 70s and not fluctuate all that much through the weekend.

The low will drag a cold front through Sunday morning that will clear us out and cool us down Sunday night Monday and Tuesday.
