Lightning as seen from space

British Astronaut Tim Peake captured an out of this world (literally) time lapse of lightning.

This isn't just any ole' lightning time lapse -- this particular time lapse was taken aboard the International Space Station and shows what lightning looks like from space.

It was taken as the ISS flew from North Africa over Turkey on its way towards Russia.

Tim tweeted, "Amazing how much lightning can strike our planet in a short time."

City lights are easy to pick out in the 30 second time lapse, but can you spot the lightning?

Find the white spurts of light...that's the lightning!

Neat, right?
