WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The South Florida community continues to pay it forward with the bike from Steve's Ride for the Ride Cross.

Wheels of Wellington donated the Townie Path bicycle to Chief Meteorologist Steve Weagle's annual Ride for the Red Cross, which is a week-long event that raises funds for the organization as hurricane season begins.

Every year the bicycle from Steve's Ride is given away to the highest bidder. This year, longtime donor Mark Minkin won the bike by making a $2,000 pledge to the Red Cross.

Instead of keeping the bike, Minkin donated it to the Best Foot Forward Foundation, which helps foster care youth. The foundation plans to give the bike to one of the students in its programs.

This year, Steve Weagle's Virtual Ride for the Red Cross raised more than $73,000 for the Red Cross.
