An extra hour of sleep probably sounds pretty good right about now...Well that's exactly what you'll get Saturday night, kinda.
Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday, November 5th at 2am so we'll set our clocks back an hour Saturday before going to bed essentially giving us an "extra hour" Saturday night.
This will cause sunrise and sunset to be an hour earlier Sunday morning and for the next four months. Sunrise Sunday will be around 6:30 a.m. and sunset will be an early 5:34 p.m.
This is where we get the saying, "Spring Forward, Fall Back," because we set our clocks back an hour in fall, and forward an hour in spring.
So what is Daylight Saving Time? This time period typically starts around the beginning of spring and covers the summertime months. DST effectively allows for longer daylight hours during the evening during the summer months. Supporters of DST say it allows for people who work the "typical 9-5 workday" to have daylight time after a work day during the warmer summer weather.
